Last week at Momentum Education: Wednesday, March 19, the team met with The Bridgespan Group to continue strategizing for the future. We are grateful to Libbie Landles-Cobb and Soa Andrian for all the insight they provide and for pushing our thinking. Friday, March 21, Raj Salhotra and Sylvia Camarillo attended the Education Policy Leadership Convening at Good Reason Houston. Rosaura Martinez, PMP was once a high school student with many questions. She relied on her mentors from high school and throughout college to help her along the way. After reconnecting with Raj Salhotra, she joined Momentum Education as a Mentor and Advisory Board member so that she can also be that mentor for students. Since the beginning of Rosaura and Emily's relationship, they have gotten along very well. Rosaura always encouraged Emily to ask her anything and not be afraid to seek help. Together, they have updated Emily's resume, applied to internships, worked on her LinkedIn profile, and done mock interviews together. Recently, they had the pleasure to meet in person for dinner. Rosaura shares "As seasoned professionals, it is our responsibility to impart this wisdom to students starting out their professional careers, helping them navigate their paths more effectively and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth." Meet Iyinoluwa! Iyinoluwa is a first year student at Barnard College on a pre-med track. During her first year, she has already began working in a lab doing research! "Attending Barnard College has been a large pivot that's further developed my mind as a scholar and as an individual. With Momentum Education's monthly advisory sessions, I've had the chance to share my progressions throughout my freshman year and create goals that have allowed me to think deeper about my position as a Barnard student." Raj Salhotra and Karel visited Daikin Park this Saturday to spread the word to students on all the programs that we provide. Every year Morales Funeral Home hosts this College, Career Day for high school seniors to learn about college opportunities, post-secondary education pathways, and also explore career and technical training options. We had the opportunity to talk to many students that will be applying for our scholarship and see one of our recipients in person!
