?? Last month, Momentum staff from across the organization were treated to a special Staff Appreciation Picnic at Excite Ballpark, home of the San Jose Giants! It was an amazing day filled with games, laughter, and delicious BBQ. The event also included our beloved annual volleyball tournament for some good-natured competition. ???? We are excited to announce that our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Shefali Miller, is stepping into a new, dual role that also includes Chief Operating Officer. This expanded role will strengthen operations for our core medical and clinical services.? As CMO and COO, Dr. Miller will continue to oversee Medical Services and will also assume operational oversight of Outpatient Services, Residential and 24/7 Programs, and La Selva Group. She will collaborate closely with executive leaders Gail Campanale, Eleonore Sosa Pace, and Jim Millsap, who will continue to provide direct leadership over their respective divisions and teams.? Our President & CEO, David K. Mineta, recently wrote a letter to the editor for the The Mercury News focused on Gus Walz's heartfelt display of love and pride for his father, Minnesota Governor and vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz. Although many praised the moment, an equal number mocked Gus, who has a nonverbal learning disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and an anxiety disorder. As we know all too well in the behavioral health world, bullying like this only provides more fodder for the stigma that persists around mental health issues and neurodivergence.?It is our hope that Gus and his family can use this moment to signal to others that differences should be celebrated, not made fun of.???
