Yesterday marked the official launch of the NSW Organoid Innovation Centre. Established through an historic multi-institutional collaboration, we had the honour of hosting the NSW Chief Scientist and Engineer Prof Hugh Durrant-Whyte FRS FAA, and senior executives from NSWOIC nodes, Prof Roger Reddel, Prof Stephen Rodda and Prof Julie Cairney to usher in a new era of scientific possibility. ? The advanced capabilities of NSWOIC to biomanufacture reproducible organoids positions the suite of facilities based across University of Sydney, UNSW and Children's Medical Research Institute as innovation hubs nationally and globally, driving engagement and investment opportunities enabled by Emerging Industry Infrastructure Fund created by the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer. The stem cell technologies of the Centre utilise robotics and AI, critically boosting the availability of synthetic biology to researchers. With decades of expertise, the Governance Board Prof Michael Kassiou, A/Prof Anai Gonzalez-Cordero, A/Prof Renee Whan and Dr Shafagh Waters will provide scientific and strategic leadership that empowers world-class research. ? Access to the NSWOIC facilities will become available to researchers via an application process in mid-2025. Learn more at ?? nswoic.org
