These are Miles that Matter! Modus tracks data on ride type, client demographics, and service coverage, and we’ve been able to identify shifts in demand and adjust our services accordingly. We’ve partnered with agencies across Tulsa to ensure our rides are reaching the people who need them most. And we’re not stopping there—our next goal is to increase capacity and expand to new service areas. Modus announces Heather Smith as our new Executive Director - follow along in 2025! Smith has spent her career focusing on inclusion and independence for those who tend to be marginalized. She shares what #drives her . . . "I used to be a school teacher. I taught Alternative Education for years and was in the business of removing barriers. I could get them a diploma, food, clothing, attention, certifications, motivation, and a job. I even designed a program with a mission of the students having 'a ride to work the next day.' I was able to put almost ALL of the pieces together - they were trained and ready to be hired the next day after they graduated. One problem. No ride. And that has been a thorn in my side - until Modus. It is my greatest pleasure to serve Tulsa in this way - removing barriers through nonprofit transportation solutions. Modus is designed to be written into grants by social service organizations struggling to connect with clients due to a lack of reliable transportation. Modus is the answer."
