In the week of #WorldCancerDay - we are excited to share our latest publication news for #MammaTyper. Published in Modern Pathology from Elsevier comes Emad Rakha and Nehal Atallah's research article: ?? ???????????????????? ???? ???????????????? ???? ????????-???????? ?????????????? ?????????? ?? ?????????????????? ?????????? ?? HER2-positive breast cancer which constitutes 13-15% of cases, shows variable response to anti-HER2 therapies.?The refinement of HER2 classification for prediction of response to anti-HER2 therapy can improve breast cancer (BC) patients’ outcomes. This is where MammaTyper?can help! By combining MammaTyper? assay with IHC to assess HER2 status, you can improve the identification of HER2-positive BC patients who would benefit from anti-HER2 therapy. #Innovation #Diagnostics #BreastCancer

A new multicenter, retrospective study published in Modern Pathology quantifies the performance of the Scopio Full-Field Bone Marrow Aspirate Application vs. manual microscopy. Authored by Adam Bagg, Philipp W. Raess, Irit Avivi, and Ben-Zion Katz, the evaluation demonstrated the digital system’s potential for accurate, high-quality BMA analysis and for accelerating expert analysis. Conducted at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Oregon Health & Science University, and Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, the study assessed BMA primary parameters (normal or abnormal) and secondary parameters (increased/decreased/ normal). The results showed a high correlation with manual methods for Romanowsky-stained samples and Prussian blue-stained samples, respectively, as follows: ? Efficiency: 90.85%/90.00% ? Sensitivity:? 81.61%/81.94% ? Specificity: 92.88%/93.38% respectively Overall agreement was 91.1%, with repeatability and reproducibility within predefined criteria. ?? I'm thrilled to share our new paper, just published in the prestigious journal Modern Pathology!???? In this work, using an integrated approach combining clinical, morphological, immunohistochemical, and molecular profiling analyses, we confirmed that MEF2D::NCOA2 fusion associated tumors of the vulva/vagina represent a distinct entity. Given the rarity of this tumor, this work was possible thanks to a close national collaboration between Hospices Civils de Lyon - HCL, IUCT-Oncopole, Institut Bergonié, and Centre Léon Bérard ???? Why is it crucial to describe new entities like this one ? ?? In this particular case, because of the differential diagnoses (especially myxoid STUMP and leiomyosarcoma) some patients would have been treated aggressively, whereas the clinical behavior of this entity appears rather indolent, requiring surgical excision only. However, more data are needed to really understand the biology of these neoplams. Our APRIL cover is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Figure 1 from a research article in our most recent April issue: "Quantitative Multiplexed Analysis of Indoleamine 2,3-Dioxygenase (IDO) and Arginase-1 (ARG1) Expression and #MyeloidCell Infiltration in #ColorectalCancer" by Elomaa et al. used machine learning-based image analysis to detect and classify #cell and #tissue compartments in #QuPath. The cells were detected by using the cell detection function, and the #phenotype into 5 categories using the object classifier function. The 5 categories can be seen on the Modern Pathology cover below: #Monocytic cells (Sage Green), #Granulocytes (Pink), #MastCells (White), #TumorCells (Lime Green), and other cells (Orange) are shown in the figure (Mast Cells not shown in cover, but show in figure). https://lnkd.in/e_4me5AY
