Career Background: With almost 10 years of experience in the medical field, primarily in OBGYN, Chelsea decided to make a shift to dermatology—following a long-held interest. This move reflects her passion for exploring new areas of healthcare and her desire to provide exceptional care to our patients. Meet Rachael, our practice manager Favorite Part of the Job: Rachael's favorite part of her career as a practice manager is having the opportunity to make a positive impact on both patients and the staff. She ensures the clinic runs smoothly by overseeing daily operations and consistently checking in with the staff. Rachael leads by example and is always willing to jump in where it is needed to contribute to the clinic's success. Rachael loves to connect with patients, some of which she has known for many years working alongside Dr. Domingues. Outside of work: Rachael enjoys being outside in the warmer weather! A few of her favorite activities include paddleboarding, kayaking with her husband, laughing with her friends and family, checking out new local breweries, or going to an outdoor yoga class. Fun Fact: Rachael likes to collect sea glass from different beaches she has been to. Career Background: Rachael started her career in dermatology in 2011 as a medical receptionist and then as a site coordinator; working many of those years alongside Dr. Domingues. In 2022, Rachael took a step away from dermatology to pursue a role in the Service Excellence and Patient Experience Department at Southcoast Health. This opportunity allowed her to expand her professional skills, grow as a leader, and gain a deeper understanding of patient-centered care. In 2024, Dr. Domingues approached Rachael with a special opportunity—to join him in the opening of his practice. Medicare is failing our patients and the doctors who care for them! ?Our patients trust us to provide care. Medicare payment cuts threaten that trust by eroding our ability to provide that care. ?Thanks to a Medicare payment system that prioritizes cost and cumbersome inefficient processes over time spent with patients, we are spending more and more time on administrative tasks like arguing with insurance companies to get patients the treatments they need. ?As Medicare and insurance companies decrease reimbursement for care, we need to see more patients in a day to cover the cost of running a medical practice. ?We have seen payments from Medicare stagnate while inflation has skyrocketed the costs to medical offices of providing patient care. ?For instance, this year, Medicare is cutting almost 3% from Medicare physician reimbursements, and this is the fifth consecutive year that Medicare has cut payments to doctors. ?Unfortunately, if these cuts continue, it may soon become impossible for doctors to continue serving their Medicare patients. This will force reduced appointment times, limiting the number of Medicare patients we see, or even stop accepting Medicare altogether, which would drastically reduce access to the quality care that Medicare recipients deserve. ?Congress needs to take this issue seriously and act before it’s too late. No voice is more persuasive than a patient’s. ?I urge EVERYONE, whether you have Medicare or a different insurance to please consider reaching out to your legislators and voicing your concerns about these cuts. Your voice is powerful, and your support can make a real difference in ensuring that physicians can continue to care for Medicare patients and sustain practices that you rely on for high-quality health care. ???Thank you??? @aadskin1?@aadmember?@moderndermma

??2024?? What a year! We opened the doors to our beautiful custom-built office @moderndermma to provide top-notch expert Dermatology care to Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. As a result, I was able to return to my passions of educating residents and other colleagues, presenting at conferences, and publishing journal articles once again. I am truly grateful to my wife and our registered nurse Kasia, our practice manager Rachael and the rest of our staff who have made our first 8 months a success and a true pleasure to work with.
