Excited to finally visit the The Mercantile Library. Built in 1835, this stunning space is now part of a mixed-use residential development led by Bobby Maly and the Model Group. Bobby stated Historic tax credits played a crucial role in its successful transformation. With the longest lease record of 10,000 years, this library houses an impressive collection of over 85,000 books. There is 16,000 SqFt of first floor retail available. Currently, 172 units are available for lease, making it a vibrant hub in our city. A big shoutout to Kimberly Fantaci and ULI Cincinnati for organizing this engaging Real Deal event! This Black History Month, OCCH recognizes the legacy of the historic Manse Hotel in Cincinnati’s Walnut Hills neighborhood. Established in 1950, the Manse was a landmark destination for African American musicians, athletes, and political figures. Today, through restoration in partnership with Model Group, Episcopal Retirement Services, and ArtWorks, it has been transformed to the Manse Apartments, offering affordable housing for seniors while preserving a piece of history. OCCH and Fifth Third Bank provided equity for the development and contributed a $30,000 grant to support a mural led by artist Cedric Michael Cox. This initiative added to the building’s vibrancy while creating paid artistic opportunities for local youth. The Manse continues to stand as a symbol of resilience and revitalization in Walnut Hills. Many things can make a good website great, micro animations, appropriate navigation, clear and concise key messaging, and short, digestible content. However professional photography is the best way to create a fantastic experience and tell the story. US Digital Partners recently launched the new website for Model Group and the results have been catching eyes throughout the community. The reason for this is the AMAZING images from JohnBob Photography that reinforce the mission of Model Group: Positively Transforming Communities. When you visit the site, you are drawn into communities and places that MG has created by the artistic photography that JohnBob captured. It is like you are there or want to be there to experience these people and places that are the “heartbeat” of the community. That was the goal when we partnered with MG, to show how life is lived in these mixed-use urban developments and make people want to be a part of it. You can’t do that with stock photography. As designers, we often have to rely on stock images to reinforce the story for our clients. And in some circumstances that is ok, but to really be unique, inspiring, and memorable it is paramount to have a professional, seasoned photographer “do their magic” through the camera lens. It can set apart a good user interface from a great one. USDP is proud to have worked with such a fantastic team to bring this project to life.
