From time to time, we like to spotlight employees who help make AMETEK MOCON the successful company it is. Today, let’s meet Rob, a test & checkout technician in his sixth year at the company. 1. How long have you been at AM and how did your career take you here? I joined AMETEK MOCON in February 2019, when MOCON purchased ProSpect?. 2. What did you go to school for? I went through the Anoka Tech machine trades program and specialized in plastic injection molding. I also got my associate degree in fluid power from Hennepin Tech. 3. What’s your favorite part of your job? I like the variety and complexity of the work I do at AMETEK MOCON. 4. What do you like to do outside of work? I like to go on long bike rides and tinker with my machines. I have a small milling machine and a lathe that helps with small projects. 5. What is a fun fact about you? I had a lot of fun working at Ax-Man Surplus for seven years. I traveled to different stores to build displays for electro/mechanical merchandise. How long have you been at AMETEK MOCON and how did your career take you here? a. I have been with AMETEK MOCON for more than two years, starting as an engineering contractor before taking a position as an Instrument Technician to support the Test and Checkout department. Before this, I spent more than six years supporting the Amazon Order Fulfillment Center in Shakopee. 2. Where did you go to school and what did you study? a. I went to the University of Minnesota to study mechanical engineering. After graduating, I spent 11 years as a manufacturing/process engineer at Honeywell, and another decade as an engineering contractor with various firms from defense and aerospace to medical and industrial engineering. 3. What’s your favorite part of your job? a. I like to learn new things and initiate and recommend new process improvements. 4. What do you like to do outside of work? a. Working in the garden and landscaping are my favorite things to do outside of work. I also like volunteering at my church. 5. What is one fun fact about you? a.
