Had an incredible 3 days last week in LA with?Matt Mochary and the?Mochary Method team who put together an amazing couple of days with some of the most impressive founders?in the world. We heard from Grant LaFontaine from Whatnot - Just an incredible story of scale over the last 4 years & how he's had to continuously evolve as a CEO and human from 6---> 580 employees today & still growing! Antonio Juliano from?dYdX went deep about his own entrepreneurial journey & how he's learned to make decisions without the constraints of fear. Francis Davidson from?Sonder Inc. who was inspiring everyone through his journey over the last 10 years through amazing highs & lows - To still have the amount of passion & drive today after a decade is something we all want & strive for as founders. And from?Brian Long?from Attentive who put on a masterclass of communication for every founder & provided some of the most clear & implementable examples of how to be an incredibly operational CEO. And lastly, the best part of it all: The human connection. When these types of events are done right, you cultivate?deep conversations through vulnerability & curiosity - Which enables deep relationships to be built in a short period of time. Something I know all the founders appreciated the most out of the event. A Team Overseas would not be what it is today without Mochary Method. I haven't given them a single dollar and I'm not affiliated in any way. They just have an incredibly helpful and free resource with their entire curriculum. I find myself referencing it 2x per week. Insane value here. Can't help but give them a proper shout out. https://lnkd.in/eWdrPKhJ

A Deep Dive into Founder Mental Health I recently had the opportunity to join a vital discussion on mental health on @thestartuppodcast podcast. Our conversation, facilitated by Chris Saad and ?? Yaniv Bernstein Bernstein, revolved around the unique challenges founders face in maintaining mental well-being within the intense startup ecosystem. Drawing from my experiences working with high-performance individuals at Google, Google X, and Kernel, and my own journey through burnout, I shared insights on the often unseen complexities founders navigate. ??? Here are some key insights from our discussion: 1. Addressing the Mental Health Epidemic in Founders: We delved into how founders, overwhelmed by demanding workloads, frequently lack essential support for their mental health. 2. Founder Identity and Its Challenges: I explored the nuances of how founders often intertwine their identities with their companies, leading to self-neglect and increased vulnerability. 3. Recognizing Warning Signs: Identifying early signs of mental health struggles, including the neglect of self-care and its risky intertwining with business goals. 4. Mindset Hurdles: I discussed common mindset issues like imposter syndrome, perfectionism, and low self-esteem that plague many founders. The Importance of Self-Investment: Emphasizing the need for founders to regard their personal well-being as a priority, on par with their business investments. 5. Holistic Approach to Well-being: I stressed the importance of fundamental self-care and the role of professional guidance from coaches or therapists, advocating for reaching out for help proactively. 6. Coaching in Mental Health: Understanding how effective coaching can implement supportive systems and address emotional challenges. This podcast episode could be a great resource for founders and high-performance individuals looking to foster resilience and navigate mental health challenges effectively. I invite you to listen and gain insights that could be pivotal in your mental health journey. https://lnkd.in/eaviH_HA
