The Michigan Department of Transportation, supported by federal National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program funds, is expanding the construction of EV charging stations across the state. The funding will help install chargers along Michigan’s major highways to connect urban and rural areas, increase accessibility, and alleviate range anxiety.

A new partnership between Electreon, Xos Trucks, and the state of Michigan aims to expand wireless charging for commercial vehicles, including UPS trucks in Detroit. Building on the U.S.’s first wireless EV charging roadway, this initiative will integrate cutting-edge technology to reduce costs and downtime for electric fleets.

Through a new program, Wayne State University and Michigan Central have teamed up to establish a college-to-career pathway, creating more career opportunities in mobility and supporting student growth.

Lamppost EV charging startup Voltpost is teaming up with AT&T to bring internet connectivity to EV charging posts across Michigan and the Metro-Detroit area.

The City of Grand Rapids is launching the DART Program, a carshare service with an exclusively EV fleet. The program will allow residents to rent a car for a low hourly or daily rate and will be available throughout the community.

Consumers Energy is deploying 18K devices that will use AI to gather information about how EVs affect the power grid. The data will be used to understand how charging stations can be accommodated while maintaining reliability.
