This week Team MVP has been conducting New Equipment Training in preparation for the United States Marine Corps TMIT program. Operators from around the globe have come together to prepare to support training all around the Marine Corps.

MVP Robotics began as a collaboration between Dartmouth head football coach Buddy Teevens and a group of engineers and athletes from Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering and together they developed the world’s first robotic tackling dummy to help reduce unnecessary contacts and the incidence of injuries suffered during football and other sporting practices. In the first 2 years of the robotic tackling dummies (MVP|DRIVES) being available, MVP completely sold out of their MVP|DRIVES to half the NFL, 40+ colleges, and more than 75 high schools. At Dartmouth, concussions were reduced by 58% in the first two seasons of implementing the MVP|DRIVES into practice. The MVP|DRIVES are designed to accurately simulate the size and performance of a human, weighing 190 lbs and reaching speeds of 17 mph. Following the successful development and introduction of the world’s first robotic tackling dummy (MVP|DRIVE) for football, MVP has continued developing their patented robotic system to create HEKTR (Humanoid Engageable Kinetic Training Robot) in order to fit the realistic tactical training needs of the warfighter. HEKTR is a remote-control, fully armored, all-terrain, and responsive live-fire target that simulates a realistic environment by reaching speeds over 20 mph and providing instantaneous feedback to the shooter. The HEKTR platform is a versatile training tool that forces quick reaction and fluid decision making from operators in any setting, including: house, urban, woodland, desert, ice/snow, and sand. Through the HEKTR mobile app, operators are able to control and customize their training scenarios and thereby integrate HEKTR’s capabilities as part of larger training evolutions.

This week MVP had the opportunity to brief the Red Diamond, 4th Marine Division. We were excited to share the capabilities of HEKTR, our deployable expeditionary “range in a box” capability, and the integration efforts we are working with Saab and JMAP with Force on Target. It is always a privilege to be able to hear first hand the customers needs and try to explore ways to provide them what they need to support their mission.

MVP Robotics HEKTR is ready for any mission! HEKTR (Humanoid Engageable Kinetic Training Robot) is a fully armoured, multi target zone, autonomous, Live-Fire and Non-Lethal 360-degrees shot detecting, Indoor and Outdoor, easy-to-operate training system. Shooters get an instand feedback when HEKTR is hit and the Instructor gets real-time data of hit placement, number of hits, status of the robot and much more. HEKTR has an maximum speed of up to 22mph/35kmh, is easy to set up, deploy and program and has a long battery run time of 6+ hrs. We have several different targets we can deploy on the system, such as live-fire, sim, steel and 3D vehicles. An additional return-fire unit enables the robot to shoot back (paintballs) to even more increase the training realism.
