What a fabulous day of advocacy today! MMWEC's MLP State House Day featured a diverse group of speakers, including MLP Caucus House Chair, Rep. Kim Ferguson, new House Chair of the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy, Rep. Mark Cusack, and our Ludlow delegation, Sen. Oliveira and Rep. Saunders. Special thanks to Mansfield Electric General Manager Joe Sollecito and Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Operations General Manager Chris Roy for offering perspectives on the strength of the public power business model - including significantly lower rates - and the impacts of potential legislative and regulatory developments on the MLPs. Thanks to all public power representatives, legislators and staff, and staff from the administration for attending. We look forward to continuing these conversations. #publicpower #MMWECleads

Small business and multi-family audits have launched through MMWEC's NextZero program! One of the first small business audits was conducted this week at the Templeton First Congregational Church. Auditors from MMWEC's energy efficiency partner, CET, will evaluate the businesses’ energy consumption habits, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, lighting, and more. After the audit is completed, business owners will receive an in-depth audit report that explains different measures that can be implemented to cut down energy use and increase savings with projected cost and energy savings for each suggested measure. Business owners will also be given information on available rebates and incentive programs to help offset the costs of the suggested upgrades. Customers of Holyoke Gas & Electric, Ipswich Electric Light Department, South Hadley Electric Light Department, and Templeton Municipal Light and Water Plant are eligible for the new energy assessments.?#publicpower #jointaction #MMWECleads
