For those who may not know, Toni is a walking ambassador for multifamily excellence, a Past President of IREM Maryland Chapter, and a current National Board Member of Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). She initially joined us to speak about IREM and the importance of getting involved; however, as she often does, Toni went above and beyond, sharing her own multifamily journey—a story filled with resilience, determination, and inspiration. Being a Baltimore native, Toni’s message hit home for our students, who saw a relatable role model in her success story. True to form, our students SHOWED UP and SHOWED OUT as 11 of our incredible placement partners joined us to interview and develop the class. ?? The day kicked off with high energy thanks to the one and only Tamar Davis from David S. Brown Enterprises, Ltd! ?? Tamar’s session on interviewing and hiring was a HIT—her passion and expertise had the students engaged, inspired, and ready to put their skills into action. ?? And action, they delivered! We’re always thrilled when we get to spend a day in the field learning about the vital leasing-maintenance connection, and yesterday did not disappoint. Our day kicked off with insights from the outstanding property manager, Joey Kosloski, and we were joined by none other than Davon Maye, Southern Management Companies Capital Expenditure Project Manager. Students got a firsthand look at the service shop, toured a make-ready apartment with a detailed review of move-in preparation essentials, and as a special bonus, we even got an exclusive peek into a real boiler room! These hands-on experiences are invaluable and now, we can’t wait to see our leasing league apply what they’ve learned to create exceptional experiences in their new roles.
