He explains that a true friend is always loving, and true family is present to help during trying times. Our relatives and real friends will always extend their love and grace to us in both favorable and unfavorable circumstances. Let’s remember that a faithful friend is just as valuable as a family member who will support us through a crisis, and we should cherish these godly relationships.

With Thanksgiving approaching, we’re reminded to always be grateful for blessings in our lives, both big and small and to pray that others may be blessed, too. This gratitude should not be limited to only the good situations, but also for the lessons we learn and the strength we develop through difficulties we may experience.

Louis P. Barbarin, chief executive officer of the Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board, announced his retirement effective August 31, 2025. The announcement was made during MMBB’s Fall 2024 Board of Managers meeting. MMBB is grateful for Louis Barbarin’s dedication to its mission and his numerous contributions.
