In 2024, the Players Trust, in partnership with Learn Fresh, brought the MLB Players STEM League to over 25,000 kids globally, with over 500 educators trained to support this unique, baseball-inspired math and social-emotional learning experience. Featuring over 40 MLB Players, the program reaches classrooms across multiple countries, including the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Mexico, and the USA, empowering students everywhere to cultivate their math and social-emotional skills through a baseball-inspired board game. The Players Trust is honored to announce Rhys Hoskins as this year's Philanthropist of the Year! This award is given to the Player who best demonstrates an altruistic spirit and positive social impact beyond the diamond. Rhys will use the $25K grant to send those with muscular dystrophy to summer camp. His lasting impact in the community and support for Muscular Dystrophy Association continues to inspire us day in and day out. The Players Trust's Philanthropist of the Year Award was included in the Players Choice Awards voting for the first time this year.

This award is given to the Player who “best demonstrates an altruistic spirit and positive social impact beyond the diamond.” The Philanthropist of the Year will also receive a $25,000 grant to the charity or cause of his choice. The two runners-up will receive $5,000 grants to their chosen nonprofit.?2024 marks the first time the Philanthropist of the Year Award was included in Players Choice Awards voting.
