As Engineers Week comes to a close, MKN is thrilled to celebrate the creativity and innovation of our talented team! Our Annual Engineers Week Challenge had our offices building structures with office supplies like silly putty, tape, popsicle sticks, cups, and straws. The goal was to create a conveyance system that could hold and transport water. In celebration of National Engineers Week, MKN proudly highlights Henry Liang, PE, for his contributions to the field of engineering. One of Henry's most memorable projects is the CSA 22C Water and Wastewater Improvements for Gunner Ranch Inc. and Valley Children's Healthcare Hospital. Henry has had the opportunity to work on this project for over 20 years since he started his career as a Civil Engineer. It has provided him with the opportunity to work on multi-disciplined water and wastewater projects from the very beginning of the conceptual planning stages, all the way through to system startup and commissioning. When asked what he enjoys most about the water engineering industry, Henry stated, "I enjoy working with people and coming up with unique solutions to help our clients solve highly complex water challenges. Whether we’re working on a project for a large, highly populated City or a small rural community, they both have the exact same water challenges. MKN takes a moment this week to proudly highlight Adam Bugielski, P.E., a Principal Engineer and Operations Manager for our Ventura office. Adam’s most memorable project at MKN has been collaborating with several districts and cities to analyze a regional solution to convey water through Ventura County. His extensive experience in both the private and public sectors has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of water, wastewater, and recycled water systems, ranging from the design of treatment and conveyance projects to planning and hydraulic modeling. Adam's dedication to innovative engineering solutions continues to drive the success of MKN projects. MKN proudly introduces Sarah Mathews, PE, for her exceptional contributions to the engineering industry. Sarah's most memorable project at MKN has been the ongoing Water Recycling Facility Operations Support for the City of Santa Paula. This project has involved significant work on their Wastewater Master Plan and future Advanced Water Treatment Facility, showcasing her dedication to advancing community infrastructure and water quality. When asked about her passion for the water engineering industry, Sarah shared, "I most enjoy the technical aspects of my work, including hydraulic analysis and design. I love coming up with a creative and effective solution that will benefit my community! I also enjoy connecting with my peers in public works; our industry is tight-knit and filled with talented engineers and operations staff that I love getting to work with every day."
