Subjective wellness measures are some of the most well established for monitoring athlete "readiness". But, I find that they are not deployed effectively in most organizations. There are certainly limitations to effectiveness that include consistency, honesty, data integration and decision making. The key is Buy-In! If you can create a culture where coaches, support staff, and athletes value subjective measures, wellness questionnaires can be one of your most important tools. If you don't use wellness questionnaires, why?
