From iconic movies to TV shows, awards shows, and unforgettable characters, the brainstorming has officially begun for our Capital Region CANstruction structure! ?? Meanwhile, Mike, Becky, and Chris are making connections in The Big Easy this week at the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Small Business Conference in New Orleans. October is National Community Planning Month, and we’re celebrating the impactful milestones our Planning Group has reached alongside our dedicated community partners! This month, our two North Country NY Forward communities, the Village of Alexandria Bay and the Village of Canton, selected projects to recommend for the revitalization of their downtowns. In the Capital Region, both the Town of Halfmoon and the Town of Guilderland achieved major milestones as their Comprehensive Plan Update Committees each voted unanimously to recommend their draft plans to the Town Boards! Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of touring the University at Albany College of Nanotechnology, Science, and Engineering (CNSE) with SMPS Upstate NY and CSArch! MJ is proud to have provided structural and site/civil design services for the transformation of the historic former Albany High School into a cutting-edge facility. The recently completed phase restored the south wing, covering about half of the building’s 129,000 square feet. This project beautifully blends the building's rich architectural history with modern technology to support groundbreaking research and academic programs. Next up, construction will shift to the north wing and the historic auditorium, with the final phase expected to wrap up in 2027!
