#ConsciousFashion. #SustainabilityStorytelling. And even #CurriculumDevelopment. Those were the themes during my recent “Community Conversation” with Britta Cabanos, Founder and Director of Inside Fashion Design & The Conscious Fashion Design Academy (CFDA). Britta is on the frontlines of ethical-fashion education – and my new partner in a one-of-a-kind training that I’ll lead for her and the CFDA on March 1st?and 2nd: “Prove Your Impact! A Content-Creation Workshop for Conscious Fashion.” Why's this Workshop timely? In the global, multi-billion-dollar fashion industry – which is under increasing scrutiny due to issues like exploitation of resources; abuse of “people, planet and animals”; and waste generated by #fastfashion – many companies are throwing money at the problem. Yet, too few are delivering promised results or impact. That’s known as #greenwashing. For any fashion brand or designer that hopes to persuade skeptical consumers, investors, watchdogs, media, and others, that they’re truly producing #consciousfashion, #ethicalfashion, #ecofriendlyfashion, even #veganfashion, there’s only one way to convince a skeptic: with concrete, credible, even verifiable evidence – presented transparently. In what form? Through my style of humanized, evidence-driven #SustainabilityStorytelling. It’s part of my broader #ProveYourImpact formula: adapting all the skills, strategies and storytelling styles I learned from #InternationalJournalism, to the specific challenges of #GlobalCommunications. I adapt this to any organization under pressure to demonstrate results or impact, leading to my other new specialties: #ESGStorytelling, #SDGStorytelling, #DEIStorytelling. Beyond my Journalism and Communications, for 20 years I’ve taught and trained – always developing my own curriculum for courses, lectures, trainings and workshops. Each time, I demystify and simplify the entire process of how exactly to create such evidence-driven content. As I often say, you don’t need to be a professional writer or storyteller to do this. That’s why, with this CFDA workshop, I’ll do more than share my skills and strategies with participants: I’ll also lead participants, step by step, to produce their first piece of publishable content. All of it to prove their claims are true – and to avoid the accusation of greenwashing. In the process, I’ll reveal how they can do it for themselves, moving forward. Don’t just give a man a fish; show him how to fish! For more on why your brand needs Sustainability Storytelling, watch the video below. 关于我们
We’re a boutique Global Communications Consultancy, offering our clientele a diverse menu of solutions to engage your audience, prove your impact, build your brand and enhance your reputation. From Strategic Communications, Thought Leadership and Media Relations to Content Creation, Strategic Storytelling and Team Trainings. We’ve developed a consulting and coaching methodology that's proven itself across four continents. Our educational philosophy is “holistic,” as it combines three principles: 1) Simplify & Demystify. In leading our clients “by the hand,” we simplify the process. This also removes the mystery surrounding it, enabling you to visualize you and your team implementing our strategy. This, in turn builds confidence. 2) Show, Don’t Tell. Don’t just tell your audience, with mere words. Back up whatever you say with concrete facts, credible evidence, illuminating anecdotes. Without ammunition, it may render your words empty and meaningless. 3) Learning By Doing. There’s no better teacher than experience. Apply the MJMethod toolkit we've shared - with us coaching you through the process, shoulder by shoulder. Let's achieve your objectives, together. Embrace these principles, and we guarantee success.

Prove Your Impact: Skills, Strategies & Storytelling to Overcome Your Audience’s Skepticism It's not just a mantra – it’s the key to proving your organization's true impact. Our Founder, Michael J. Jordan, recently shared this principle in his Consultation for the Nigerian NGO, "We Aspire Youth Mentorship Initiative." Jordan advised them on how exactly to prove their accomplishments, then weave them into powerful, evidence-backed stories. Applying his unique style of #StrategicStorytelling, we help organizations like We Aspire demonstrate their tangible impact with humanizing, real-life examples. People like Balogun Adebola, a former We Aspire mentee whose life transformation also serves as a piece of credible evidence that proves the organization’s on-the-ground impact. Ready to prove your impact, too? Contact Michael today for your own Consultation: ?? At MJ Method Communications, our unique approach is to apply the skills, strategies and storytelling of?#InternationalJournalism?to the challenges of?#GlobalCommunications?– and produce for our clients what we call evidence-driven?#StrategicStorytelling. That was the theme this week of a training for our first Ghanaian client: the well-intentioned?SIA-Africa (Sustainable Initiatives and Alliances for Africa). SIA was?founded in 2012?by the Ghanaian New Yorker?Nene Kodjoe?to “match needs with resources” in his homeland. His #NGO seeks to attract meaningful investment to #Africa in areas like education, healthcare and the private sector – as well as inspire and support youth who pursue an education in science, technology or engineering. During our 90-minute training for the SIA team, Founder Michael J. Jordan explained their primary?#StrategicCommunications?challenge: to produce persuasive, evidence-driven content that overcomes the skepticism of any target-audience – whether it be donors, partners, media, or anyone else. As Jordan always advises: “Show, don’t just tell, your on-the-ground impact – with concrete, credible, verifiable evidence that you present transparently.” Without such evidence, imagine ourselves in their shoes: why would a skeptic believe us? If we ourselves are a potential donor, investor, customer, etc., would we believe?them?without evidence? The next challenge: bring it to life. Craft our core messages and lawyerly argument; unearth and illuminate our evidence to support those messages; then weave it all into compelling, humanizing?#ImpactStories?about our beneficiaries and their journey. This combines the skillset of a journalist, detective, lawyer, even psychologist. We look forward to that next stage of cooperation with SIA-Africa’s?international team. #Kenya is once again enveloped in crisis – and its most disadvantaged citizens often suffer the worst. Against that backdrop, we’re delighted to announce our new partnership in #Africa: our Founder, Michael J. Jordan, has been appointed Global Communications Advisor to the two initiatives of Kenyan philanthropist Siamanda Chege. Twenty years ago, Chege, a former fashion model who’d settled in New York City, founded two enterprises in her homeland to assist those less fortunate. The first was Bebe Ravi (https://www.beberavi.com/), a social enterprise that employs 50-100 rural Kenyan women – many of them #AIDS widows – to stitch sustainable apparel, which is then sold in the U.S. Her second not-for-profit was the PATRICK CHEGE MEMORIAL ORPHANAGE INC (https://lnkd.in/eyMUd6iV), which she named to honor her father. Today, "Chege Village" is home to 30 children, who were orphaned and now receive housing, education, clothing and food. We’re working with Chege to help raise awareness of how Kenya’s current crisis affects the underprivileged, like her two beneficiary communities. But we’ll also aim to prove the lasting, on-the-ground impact of her two non-profits, over the past 20 years. Stay tuned for more! For Jordan, meanwhile, this partnership marks a deepening of his ties to Africa. From 2011-15, he and his family lived in the remote kingdom of #Lesotho, high in the mountains of Southern Africa. Among his activities, Jordan delivered Health & HIV Communications consultancies to non-profits. Now based in New York, he was also recently appointed as Global Communications Advisor (and Strategic Storytelling Trainer) to the Nigerian women’s NGO, Tech Herfrica (https://lnkd.in/eQHbfX-h). Similarly, he serves as Global Communications Advisor to the music-therapy NGO founded by Emily Cavanagh: "A Song for You" (https://lnkd.in/ecxsSpZf). #globalcommunications #strategiccommunications #impactstories #strategicstorytelling #sdgstorytelling #sustainabilitystorytelling

We at MJ Method Communications are delighted to announce a new partnership – and our first with a New Zealander! As part of expanding the services that our boutique Consultancy offers – from Global Communications for organizations to Executive Coaching for individuals – we’re joining forces with ?Mark Needham, a Career Development and job-interview specialist who runs his own consultancy:?Your Success Alchemy. We met Mark through the Chinese social-media platform #Xiaohongshu (“Little Red Book”) and recognized our shared interests and complementary services. We also identified a unique target-audience that would benefit from our joint, cross-cultural efforts: Chinese professionals at various stages of climbing the career ladder. (Our Founder, Michael J. Jordan, lived in Beijing for five years.) Not only are we currently planning a joint, one-hour Webinar, plus a series of short videos, but perhaps even a weekly “show” together. All of it is driven by an exciting, one-of-a-kind curriculum that we’re developing, to maximize the value for our viewers. We’ll coach together on everything from how to build a strong foundation of your brand – through LinkedIn – to honing your self-introductory “Elevator Pitch” and strategizing for job interviews. At this point, though, we won’t divulge much more. But keep an eye on this space in the coming days for news of our launch! #ExecutiveCoaching #BrandBuilding #JobInterviews #JobSearch
