Gaining live insight from a Clinical Psychologist or Pleasure Mentor already sounds appealing, but a licensed Therapist having thorough conversations with both is even more exciting. This Wednesday, two more live discussions are coming between seasoned professionals. This presents the opportunity to listen in on personal stories and professional experiences that were regular catalysts in building up a career or identity. We’d love to invite any professionals who may find these topics intriguing! Check these slides for more information, and view our event listings through our LinkedIn page! Please RSVP through our website to secure a spot.

Skimming has become the new way to read, but sometimes a plot goes much deeper than the surface level, revealing a writer's true intentions. There’s always hidden lessons in well-written books and TV shows that can only be discovered with an analytical viewpoint. Mizu will be hosting a book and film club designed to educate folks about character development, captivating audiences, and emotional connection, through a tailored selection of stories. Meetings will take place on the 2nd Wednesday of each month: The first hour is dedicated to exploring the book chosen for each month and the second hour will be to decipher the film for each month. A few examples of books we’ll be exploring: Normal People by Sally Rooney, The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides, Pachinko by Min Jin Lee A few examples of films we’ll be analyzing: The Bear, The Queen’s Gambit, Inception You can find the registration link with more information on our website: https://lnkd.in/dzaU3ZVU

Intersections with race and culture often complicate the ability of Bisexual people to feel acknowledged. Even with supportive allies, it’s about being accepted by those closest to you. Part of Dr. Zori’s research explains how micro affirmations and acts of kindness towards someone’s open expression of identity, resonate the most from immediate family and non-LGBTQ+ friend circles. Her research is particularly focused on bisexual+ people of color, exploring the experiences subjective to race. We’re featuring Dr. Zori Paul on October 2nd in honor of Bi Visibility month, and it’s a great chance to get a glimpse of her research, career, and insight as a clinical assistant professor. What Mizu knows you’ll gain from attending: 1. A better perception of how intersectionality affects your own identity, however you choose to express yourself. 2. Guidance on what micro vs macro affirmations are and the significance of the affirmer. 3. Insight on a professional understanding of objectification theory in the context of body satisfaction. Who’s Mizu? Our brand representative and LGBTQ+ advocate.

Dismissive behavior in a workplace is often a reflection of someone’s internal struggles, not a personal attack on you. Even if it may feel targeted. Next time someone tries to portray their negativity onto you, ask yourself this: Is this actually about me, or is someone using me as a source to vent their frustration (or projection)? Addressing these situations requires the practice of self-awareness and emotional intelligence. By recognizing that the interaction is not personal, you can then maintain your composure, and do your best to de-escalate with your response. Through developing this skill, you’ll ultimately find more success in your professional life. Responding thoughtfully and professionally will not only demonstrate your ability to focus on your goals, but also gives the best chance of mediating the interaction. Explore the deeper meaning to dismissive comments:
