Last night, the Mixteca team hosted a vibrant Fall Fiesta in honor of Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month and to celebrate an exciting milestone—a $2.5 million funding award! For years, Mixteca has been doing incredible work within limited space, but now, with this grant, we will be moving into a bigger home that reflects the dreams and aspirations of the community we serve. A huge thank you to Council Member Alexa Aviles and to the Office of the Brooklyn Borough President, Antonio Reynoso for their generous support in making this possible. And a big shoutout to our Executive Director, Lorena Kourousias, LMSW, MSPSY, and the entire Mixteca team for bringing this vision to life!
