Last week, Gov. Whitmer announced that downtown’s largest office building, Constitution Hall, will be renamed The Deborah A. Stabenow Building in honor of the recently retired U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow.?Senator Stabenow’s service to the people of Michigan spans 50 years.?She began as a member of the Ingham County Board of Commissioners and became the first woman to represent Michigan in the U.S. Senate.? “As a kid growing up in Clare, I never dreamt I would have the public service career I’ve had or be honored in such a lasting way by having my name on a State of Michigan Building. It has been the privilege of my life to represent the citizens of Michigan and I’m deeply humbled by this recognition.” ?Sen. Stabenow said.?
