We've got a lot to be grateful for here at Michigan Veteran Homes. We get to serve those who've worn the cloth of our nation. We have incredible people on our team. We have so many selfless volunteers. And our veterans are the fortunate beneficiaries of remarkable generosity from our broad network of supporters. We're also extremely fortunate to have some amazing #longtermcare administrators running the day-to-day operations of our homes - ensuring the highest quality of care and highest quality of life for our #veterans. We're grateful for our Administrators. March is Women’s History Month. This pictured ornate wooden shield was presented decades ago to honor the board service of Colonel Mildred Irene Clark Woodman, U.S. Army (Ret.), to Michigan’s Veterans Facilities. It reads, “In grateful recognition of her service to the Michigan Veterans Facilities as the first woman to serve on the Board of Managers (1981-1987), and as its chairperson (1986-1987).” The Colonel broke through countless other glass ceilings throughout her lifetime as well: a lifetime spent honorably serving her nation.
