HONORING TRADITION AND STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIPS. On March 7, Regional Officer Jeffrey Hughes, and General Manager Jaime Torres of the Nashville office had the honor of representing Mitsui USA at the annual Emperor’s Birthday Celebration Reception, hosted by Consul-General Shinji Watanabe in Franklin, Tennessee. It was a privilege to join distinguished guests in commemorating this important tradition while also reinforcing the deep ties between Japan and the United States. Events like these highlight an enduring partnership built on mutual respect, collaboration, and shared values. Beyond the cultural significance, this occasion also highlighted the deep economic ties between Japan and Tennessee. Japanese firms account for more than half of the foreign direct investment in the state, with over 200 Japanese-owned facilities calling Tennessee home. These investments have led to nearly $19 billion in capital investment, creating thousands of jobs for residents in industries such as automotive, electronics, and renewable energy. Notably, these companies directly employ nearly 51,000 Tennesseans, contributing significantly to the state's economy and providing quality livelihoods for many families. Giving Back: Supporting Our Kids at Soup Sunday in Nashville On Sunday, February 23, our Nashville team had the privilege of volunteering at Soup Sunday in Nashville, an incredible event presented by Our Kids. This annual gathering brings the community together to enjoy delicious soups from local restaurants—all in support of Our Kids' mission to provide critical services to children and families affected by child sexual abuse.
