As we gather around the table this Thanksgiving, let’s take a moment to reflect on the blessings that surround us. In a world often filled with challenges, this day provides us with a golden opportunity to express gratitude for the abundance in our lives. Let us be thankful for the gift of each other’s company, for the laughter that echoes in our homes, and for the warmth that comes from the love we share. Thanksgiving is not just about the feast before us, but about the bonds that tie us together, making every moment a celebration. In the spirit of gratitude, let’s appreciate the lessons learned from both joy and adversity, recognizing that each experience contributes to our growth. As we express thanks for the good times, let us also embrace gratitude for the strength we find in the face of challenges. May this Thanksgiving inspire us to cultivate a heart of gratitude not just today, but every day. Let kindness be our constant companion, and may we extend our hands to those in need, sharing the blessings we have received. Wishing you a Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of cherished moments. May the spirit of gratitude linger in our hearts, lighting the way for a brighter and more hopeful future. Happy Thanksgiving! Mitchell Thorp Foundation

The sudden onset of a critical medical condition and the devastation it brings to the family, 24/7 care and hardship become a way of life. These pressures present an enormous challenge to the health of the family unit. Aside from the health of their children, statistics show that families in these situations often dissolve, with bankruptcy and family separation as frequent outcomes. MTF comes alongside the families and helps by keeping the family unit together during these desperate times with support through our programs. Loss of income, most often, one of the parents has to quit their job to stay by the childa€?s bed side and care for them. Single parents cannot afford to give up their income and jeopardize their health insurance. The emotional stress on families tests them beyond their endurance, emotionally and physically. When no other resources are available, Mitchell Thorp Foundation provides urgently needed support by doing so this brings immediate relief to very stressful situations and helps create a sense of normalcy and improved quality of life in the family environment. Our success in preserving the family unit is 100% of those that come to us as a whole family in the beginning of our services.

Jameson has been battling Leukemia since 2021 and is currently on his second fight after relapsing in 2023. He’s a huge hockey fan and has been wanting to go to a Firebirds game since the team was formed in 2022. Last week his counts were good enough to leave the hospital and his dream came true! Through our Triumph Together program, he not only got to watch the game on the glass, but some of the players surprised him with his very own "Hockey Fights Cancer" jersey. We are all rooting for you Jameson and can’t wait to see you ring the bell in July when you’re cancer free!

Kennedy drove all the way from Arizona to LA to watch her favorite team, the LA Kings, play! She's diagnosed with cystic fibrosis and chronic pancreatitis, but that's not stopping her from living her life to fullest with a smile on her face. Through our Triumph Together program, Kennedy was able to not only attend the game but also meet the players and get some signatures. A memorable day was had by all!

How your donations help: Santiago is one of our newest children that Rady's Children's Hospital referred to us. Since birth, he was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder KCNT1, which leaves him wheelchair bound, non-verbal, and G-tube fed. He was recently hospitalized for a month with respiratory failure, septic infection found in his blood. Mom is his caregiver and is unable to collect her In Home Supportive Services while the child is hospitalized. The foundation granted them $2,000 dollars to help pay for their rental space and for food. Thank you to all our supporters of the Mitchell Thorp Foundation you have made a difference in a child's life fighting for their tomorrow. https://buff.ly/3uvGpgc
