Gov. Ferguson is prioritizing service reliability while balancing ferry electrification—but the future of Washington’s ferries depends on more than just boats. A strong, skilled workforce is critical and we’re proud to support training the next generation of mariners through programs like MITAGS’ AB to Mate and WSF Apprenticeship. The Leaders in Maritime Training and Simulation?
关于我们
MITAGS is a world-renowned maritime training and simulation center with locations in Baltimore and Seattle. We've been providing high-quality maritime training programs for military and commercial mariners for well over thirty years. Today, over one hundred and fifty different courses are available for mariners from around the globe. In addition, MITAGS is one of the few schools in the United States that offers all of the STCW training courses that are necessary to progress from Ordinary Seafarer to Unlimited Master. The origin of MITAGS can be traced back to the establishment of the Maritime Advancement, Training, Education, and Safety (MATES) Program. The MATES Program is a non-profit Trust that was created in 1968 by major Steamship Lines and the International Organization of Masters, Mates and Pilots (IOMM&P). The original mission of the MATES Program ("to enhance the professionalism of mariners") continues to this day.
