I am jazzed to share that a project I worked on with Miguel Alcantar during our time in the Collins Lab has been published! Miguel's clever experimental platform enabled us to look at over 1,900 combinations of chromatin regulators and their effects on gene expression in yeast, including new, emergent behaviors that were previously unexplored. The machine learning models we built not only help us predict the impact of regulator co-recruitment on transcriptional activity, but also highlight how much you can do with low-dimensional embeddings and shallow machine learning models "off the shelf". Huge thanks to my amazing co-authors Atti English, Jim Collins, and of course, Miguel Alcantar for their contributions. You can read more about our work in Molecular Cell:

At any given time, millions of T cells circulate throughout the human body, looking for potential invaders. Each of those T cells sports a different T cell receptor, which is specialized to recognize a foreign antigen.

“I am most excited about being able to apply this to individual patients’ tumors and learn about the signaling states of cancer and heterogeneity of that signaling,” says Michael Yaffe https://ow.ly/ySh550S8m8h
