The Department of Earth Sciences and Engineering (ESE) at Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) is seeking outstanding M.S. and Ph.D. applicants for its three academic programs: Geology and Geophysics, Geological Engineering, and Petroleum Engineering. Research areas include, but are not limited to, applied and solid-earth geophysics, critical mineral exploration and extraction, enhanced oil recovery, geochemistry, geodesy, geodynamic modeling, geospatial science and engineering, geotectonics and structural geology, machine learning and data mining applications in earth sciences and engineering, paleontology, reservoir simulation, sedimentology and stratigraphy, seismology, and water science and engineering. Established in 1870 as the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy, Missouri S&T is one of the four campuses of the University of Missouri System. It is located in the city of Rolla, a quiet, friendly, and low-cost college town among the rolling hills of the Missouri Ozarks. Its graduates enjoy one of the highest starting salaries among all universities in the country. Detailed information about the department can be found at https://ese.mst.edu/.
