  • Deer Rutting Season is Here: Drive Safe and Stay Alert! ?? ?? ?? As the temperatures drop and the leaves change, it's not just a beautiful time to enjoy the scenery—it's also?deer rutting season, which means more deer on the move, especially around dusk and dawn. ?? Every year, we see a significant increase in deer-related accidents during this time.? Here are a few essential driving tips to stay safe this season: 1. Be extra cautious during peak activity times. 2. Reduce your speed and stay aware. 3. Don't swerve. 4. Use high beams when possible and buff out older headlights. 5. Avoid trucks following you for sudden braking – engage hazard lights if needed. 6. Tell your teen drivers to assume they will experience deer. Remember, it's not just about avoiding collisions, it's about protecting lives! See below for MMMA's full library of safety resources. #DeerSeason #DrivingSafety #RoadSafety #StayAlert #FallSafety

  • After the fall time change, fatal crashes involving pedestrians and cyclists increase by 13%, especially during the darker early evening hours. Nearly 76% of pedestrian fatalities and 49% of bicyclist fatalities happen in dark conditions. Reduced daylight means it's harder for drivers to see you. Here’s what you need to know to stay safe: ?? Wear Reflective Gear & Bright Clothing: Make yourself as visible as possible, especially during twilight and nighttime. Reflective vests, ankle straps, and light-colored clothing can make a big difference. ?? Use Lights: ?? Cyclists: Equip your bike with front and rear lights. Consider additional lights on your helmet or backpack. ?? Pedestrians: Carry a flashlight or wear LED armbands to help drivers see you. ?? Be Extra Vigilant at Crosswalks: Dark conditions can make it harder for drivers to see people crossing the street, even at marked crosswalks. Always look both ways and make eye contact with drivers if possible. ?? Plan Your Routes: Whenever possible, choose well-lit paths and avoid areas where visibility is poor. ?? Avoid Distractions: Stay alert! Avoid using headphones or staring at your phone while walking or biking. Awareness can help you react more quickly if a vehicle is approaching. Follow MMMA for more safety tips or view our entire library of resources at the link below! ??

?? OSHA will soon approach the 1 year mark since the launch of their latest National Emphasis Program conducting targeted inspections of employers engaged in Warehousing and Distribution Operations, in addition to certain high injury rate retail establishments such as hardware stores, building material dealers, and supermarkets to name just a few. The NEP was launched after data compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed workplace injury and illness rates to be significantly higher in the targeted industries than other establishments. Targeted inspections falling within the guidelines of this NEP will continue through 2026. Find out if you’re an employer who may be subject to this or any other National, Regional or Local Emphasis Program by visiting OSHA's Enforcement page: https://lnkd.in/gdcSChfj
