Missourians should be paying very close attention to the weather Friday afternoon and evening and have a plan. The National Weather Service's forecast for a Moderate Risk (4 on a scale to 5) of severe weather has been EXPANDED to the northwest. Strong tornadoes (EF2+) are becoming an increasing concern with this system. Storms will develop from the west late this afternoon and intensify as they push east. This system will be extremely fast-moving, so it's essential to be able to take shelter quickly. Remember, it is never safe to be in a mobile home during severe weather. Consider staying with a friend or family member before a storm moves in. Heed all local weather warnings and stay safe!

Our Missouri State Highway Patrol Gaming Division is the absolute best! Congratulations Sergeant Bart Lairmore, Corporal Joe Pithan and recently retired Corporal Greg Tesch!
This afternoon, Missouri Department of Public Safety Director Mark James and Colonel Michael A. Turner saluted our January DPS Sworn Team Members of the Month. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Gaming Division's Sgt. Bart Lairmore, Cpl. Joe Pithan and recently retired Cpl. Greg Tesch were selected for the honor for heroically ending the threat posed by a gunman in a casino who pointed a loaded handgun and threatened patrons on the casino floor. With hundreds of civilians fleeing the scene, Bart, Joe and Greg ran toward the threat and ended it without anyone being hurt. Their valiant actions were emblematic of the Patrol's professionalism and commitment to protecting Missourians, often at great personal risk! Congratulations!
