Use Resources Wisely ? Advance Economic Development Over the decades MoDOT has managed to keep Missouri moving. Today, the state serves as a transportation crossroads for the entire nation. There are 4,800 miles of railroad tracks, 1,379 miles of Interstates, 125 public-use airports and 15 public ports. If you're trying to get goods from one side of the country to the other, it's likely they'll pass them through Missouri. It's safe to say that the Show-Me state will retain its position as the crossroads of the United States, and MoDOT will continue to lead the nation in innovation, efficiency and customer service.

This month, we hosted our 2024 HYPE Summit which was a tremendous success. Helping Young People Engage (HYPE) is an employee resource group (ERG), whose mission is to support all employees?across the department who are interested in professional development and networking with peers and MoDOT’s leadership team. This summit is held annually, and HYPE members engage and network at monthly HYPE meetings. We want to thank our speakers, MoDOT leadership, and participants for making this year’s Summit a success! #TeamMoDOT’s Tynesha Bryan, Intermediate Diversity & Inclusion Specialist, and Carley Chinnis, Human Resources Specialist, were part of team MoVEST- Missouri Virtual Empowerment for State Teams—which won third place at the 2024 Show Me Challenge. Way to go, Tynesha, Carley, and Team MoVEST! McKeegan Needham, Brandon Daniel, Tristan Londre, Michael Warren, and Timothy Taylor also represented #MoDOT as part of Team Recovery, winning fourth place. Way to go, Team Recovery! The Show Me Challenge is a competition in which team members from Missouri’s 17 executive departments identify innovative solutions to better serve Missouri’s citizens.
