?? Exciting news from the Co-op?? MEC has been awarded a $6.6 million federal grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to enhance the Cooperative’s grid resilience against wildfires and severe storms. As part of the Wildfire Assessment and Resilience for Networks (WARN) initiative, MEC will undertake the "Seeley-Swan Undergrounding for Wildfire and Storm Safety" project, which will bury 46 miles of power line in a high-risk area north of Seeley Lake. With rising wildfire events and unpredictable storm patterns, this initiative is crucial for the safety and reliability of MEC’s service area. “The need for this upgrade is significant,” says MEC General Manager Mark Hayden.
