HSRC is looking for an Aquatic Robotics Team Lead. Job Summary: The Hydrographic Science Research Center (HSRC) at The University of Southern Mississippi is seeking to hire an Aquatic Robotics Team Lead for its aquatic robotics team. As part of a multidisciplinary research team this position works in association with the Director in operating the uncrewed systems (UxS) mapping activities of the research center, leading the research in advancing autonomy in ocean and inland water environmental mapping. The HSRC UxS facilities include Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USV), Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), and Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) will be offering the Uncrewed Maritime Systems (UMS) Tier 1 Certificate Program during the spring semester of 2024. The Tier 1 classes will be held from 18 March through 19 April 2024, every weekday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, at the Marine Research Center located at the entrance to the Port of Gulfport, Mississippi.
