Mission:Leadership is proud to partner with Covenant Christian Academy in the appointment of Dr. Rebecca Thomas as Head of School. She will begin serving at CCA on July 1, 2025. Dr. Thomas is a visionary leader dedicated to providing excellent Christian education. She is adept at stewardship, building cohesive teams, and strategically executing educational and operational initiatives that center on students. For the past year, Dr. Thomas has served as Associate Head of School at Valor Christian High School. There she cultivated fruitful relationships across constituencies, inspiring both alumni and donor support for the school’s mission as she managed student-facing programs and the executive leadership team. Dr. Thomas also managed the school’s $28 million budget, focusing on hiring and retention, as well as the development of student program team members. She ensured that VCHS provided an outstanding educational experience both inside the classroom and through various co-curricular offerings. When she served as the Director of Academics, Dr. Thomas established an innovative dual credit partnership with Baylor University, achieving an AP pass rate of over 93%, and maintaining ACT mean scores of 26+. Dr. Thomas has a proven track record of developing leaders and maintaining a healthy school culture where faculty turnover is minimal and the quality of education is excellent. Mark Ganaway, Chair of the CCA Board of Trustees, shared his thoughts on the appointment: “It is with great joy and gratitude to God that we announce the appointment of Dr. Rebecca Thomas to be the next Head of School at Covenant Christian Academy.? She is a proven leader who is passionate about excellence in Christian education. We are thankful for the help of our search partner Mission Leadership who spent the time to truly understand our school, our community, and our mission. They ran an exhaustive national search which yielded just the right fit for our next head of school. We’re so grateful for their partnership.” Dr. Thomas earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Liberty University in July 2024. She holds a Master of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Northern Colorado, completed in May 2012, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Concordia University, completed in May 2002. About Covenant Christian Academy: CCA is located in Colleyville, TX, a suburb between Dallas and Fort Worth (near DFW Airport). An independent, PK—12 coeducational day school, CCA provides an education uniquely shaped by both a Christian worldview and traditional classical education principles.
