?? ?? We're proud to share Mission Graduates' 2024 Annual Report, celebrating a year of transformative achievements across San Francisco! Our impact reaches over 4,100 youth and families across the city. This year, we received a mayoral commendation for 50+ years of community service and saw our Parent Partner Program gain international recognition. Our students are thriving: K-8 students in our programs are twice as likely to meet or exceed grade-level literacy expectations compared to their peers, and 100% of this year's College Connect seniors are continuing their education at 2- or 4-year colleges. The success stories speak for themselves: College Connect alumna Dara publishing groundbreaking research at UCSF, and parent leader Elsa transforming from program participant to Promotora Principal, helping guide other families through their educational journeys. None of this would be possible without our incredible community of support: dedicated volunteers, school partners, community organizations, and supporters who believe in our mission. ?? ?? Great to see Mayor Daniel Lurie 丹尼爾·羅偉 walking the 16th Street corridor and engaging directly with community organizations yesterday! Our CEO, Edward Kaufman, joined leaders from Mission Housing Development Corporation and Youth Art Exchange alongside the Mayor to discuss how we can collaborate on community-driven solutions for the 16th Street corridor. All three of our organizations have storefronts on or near 16th Street and Mission, and we're invested in the vibrancy and well-being of our neighborhood. We appreciate the Mayor's commitment to making this a priority and his agreement to convene a meeting with stakeholders. This collaborative approach between local nonprofits and city leadership is exactly what's needed to strengthen our community. Thank you for amplifying our collective voice and working toward a thriving Mission District for everyone! #CommunityEngagement #SanFrancisco #MissionSF #CollaborativeSolutions

?? ?? Last week, we celebrated Read Across America Week at Marshall Elementary with an inspiring lineup of community professionals who brought literacy and career exploration to life! From SF firefighter Jorge F. Pacheco (a Marshall Elementary alum himself!) to ER physician Audrey Bree Tse, our volunteers read books related to their professions and engaged in lively Q&A sessions with our students. The kids were full of curiosity—asking Dr. Tse about the craziest thing she'd seen in the ER (someone eating spoons due to an iron deficiency!) and Coach Genaro, Program Director at America SCORES, about his favorite soccer celebration (Brazilian Ronaldo's, of course). Other amazing volunteers included Whitney Oaikena from 18 Reasons and Jorie Gabrysiak from Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, each sharing their unique career journeys with our students. These connections help our young learners see the real-world applications of literacy while exposing them to diverse career paths. ?? Thank you to all our volunteers for making our Read Across America event so meaningful for our students! These moments of community connection and inspiration are what education is all about. #ReadAcrossAmerica #LiteracyMonth #CommunityEngagement #MissionGraduates

"I didn't realize just how valuable the Future Center was until I left. They're there because they want to see you succeed." Last Friday was a momentous day for high school seniors across California as UC acceptance decisions were released! The excitement was palpable as years of hard work culminated in life-changing news for many first-generation college-bound students. This moment reminds us of Josue's journey. When he first visited Mission High School's Future Center, he was simply looking for help with college applications. What he found was a supportive community that encouraged him to aim higher. Today, he's studying computer science at University of California, Berkeley, paving the way for this year's seniors. The impact is clear: 100% of our College Connect seniors and 88% of John O'Connell seniors attend a 2 or 4-year school this year, compared to just 62% in California overall. "Through this program, I see Joaquin becoming a better human and student every single day." At our Marshall Elementary Extended Day Program, transformation happens beyond academics. For Joaquin's mother Maria, the greatest impact is watching her son develop empathy, practice active listening, and become a positive role model for his younger sisters. The program provides crucial support for their Spanish-speaking family. "I cannot help him with academic support at home, but he has all the tools he needs here," Maria shares. "Marshall is one big family." ??? Inspiring the Next Generation of STEM Leaders! We're thrilled to share an exciting collaboration at Cleveland Elementary! Our amazing Program Directors, Ely Jeronimo and Brenda Escobar, as well as 5th-grade after-school teacher Daisy Fajardo, have partnered with Techbridge Girls to bring engaging STEM programming to 3rd-5th grade girls in our Extended Day Program. Earlier this week, Caitlin Davis, M.Ed from Techbridge Girls and Gabriela L. from the Warriors Community Foundation visited to observe the Girls in STEM enrichment class, where students conducted a fascinating solar panel activity. This is exactly what happens when organizations come together to create opportunities for our youth. We're grateful for partners who help inspire the next generation of STEM leaders! Thank you, Techbridge Girls?and Golden State Warriors Community Foundation,?for supporting STEM education and making a difference in our students' lives! #STEM #GirlsInSTEM #Education #Community #WarriorsCommunityFoundation #MissionGraduates
