Associate Director with Mission to Ukraine

I am so excited to share that I have earned my Certificate in Fund Raising Management (CFRM) from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and my new role as the Associate Director with Mission to Ukraine! This involved completing four key courses: the Principles and Techniques of Fundraising, Planned Giving: Getting the Proper Start, Developing Annual Sustainability, and Developing Major Gifts. Thanks to the wonderful instructors (Roberta L. Donahue, MBA, CFRE, Tony Viviano, MA, CFRM, Nathan Hand, Marnie Maxwell, Michele Dole, CFP?, Dean Regenovich, Angela White, Fred Duncan, and Allan R. Marshall, MEd CFRM), I have gained the confidence and skills necessary to practically apply the principles and techniques I learned to make a difference in Mission to Ukraine. Additionally, this was a fantastic opportunity to make lasting and meaningful connections with both the faculty and fellow learners in my cohort. Thank you to everyone who made this experience so meaningful.

  • Fleeing from the border of the war…It rips you from your home, your community, your friends, and for Oksana - even her husband. Pregnant and with 2 other children to support - she had no idea how she would provide for them all alone. Her neighbor introduced her to Mission to Ukraine - and she found hope for the first time. She now has a beautiful baby and a relationship with the Lord - praise God! ?? Click the link to learn more about Mission to Ukraine: https://lnkd.in/ga_mDkrp #ukrainetoday #ukraine????

  • Diagnosed with autism at 3 years of age, Bohdan has been receiving intensive therapy at Mission to Ukraine ever since. Our therapists, Yulia and Lilia, have given him and his parents countless hours of professional, compassionate attention and care. And they’ve made progress. Good progress. Yet Bohdan still struggles with aggressive behaviors, social interaction, and communication skills. We don’t have a magic pill to make these things better. But we practice compassionate love - because THAT transforms lives. And we also have some amazing friends from APTS all the way from Virginia assisting us with some “best practices” for helping kids just like our little friend here. By the way - next week is Bohdan’s 6th birthday. Won’t you wish him a happy birthday right here in the comment section? Thanks so much. • Due to his sensory integration disability, exploring the world around him is difficult for Arsen due to the overstimulation his brain received from too many sounds and lights and textures - so we made it a little less painful, and actually quite enjoyable. Thank you for making this possible!

  • For many years, children like Tyomka would be taken directly from the hospital a few days after birth to an institutional setting - far from his parents … and far from any possibility of a normal life. You may have seen television reports about institutions such as these. Horrible places where children with disabilities were warehoused, mistreated, and often died from very treatable conditions. But God has called us to something far more humane. We believe Tyomka was created in God’s image and deserves all the love and support we can offer. And so we invest our time - and yes, our finances - into doing just that. Because when we do this for Tyomka, we are doing it unto the Lord. Will you help us help Tyomka, and others like him?
