???Throw back to last month, when a Dutch delegation embarked on an inspiring innovation mission in India, focusing on Biorefinery, Bioenergy and Biochemicals as part of the MI Integrated Biorefineries Mission, proudly co-led by India and the Netherlands. ??10 forward-thinking Dutch companies participated in this journey, connecting with leading Indian organizations like PRAJ Technologies Private Limited and Godavari Biorefineries Limited, key research institutions such as Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, TERI - The Energy and Resources Institute, and CSIR NCL Skill Initiative, and government bodies – the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT). The delegation also attended IFAT India and India Chem and joined three networking events organized by the Netherlands Innovation Network India, where over 50 Indian organizations expressed strong interest in collaboration. ???The week was filled with promising discussions, leading to numerous concrete opportunities for Dutch and Indian companies to co-develop innovative solutions. This mission further strengthens the Integrated Biorefineries Mission's commitment to knowledge sharing and partnership-building with Indian stakeholders. #biorefineries #internationalcollaboration

Leaving Baku #COP29 inspired and motivated to continue our fight for a cleaner, greener future. As always it has been a pleasure to meet with old friends and make many new ones. Mission Innovation's programme is packed! My 3 key reflections ?? : 1. Innovation remains firmly on the agenda. Innovation must go hand in hand with deployment to ensure we get the ~35% of technologies stuck in the prototype phase (International Energy Agency (IEA)) up and running to meet our 2050 goals. Through MI, we can work together to make this happen! 2. Innovation is essential to ensure the energy transition is accessible and affordable to all, in terms of fit for purpose technologies but also ensuring innovative policies and approaches exist to empower and allow for an equitable future. 3. Financing, financing, financing!! My highlights ?? : ? MI played a key role in the development of International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) groundbreaking ‘Quality Infrastructure for Green Hydrogen Roadmap’. It was a pleasure to be part of the launch! See below ??. (James Walker) ? Excited for MI to be part of the future of UNIDO's Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP)-Türkiye Innovation Challenges. Was great to speak at launch event and hear from inspirational colleagues (Rana Ghoneim, Smeeta Fokeer). ? Working with The World Bank and Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC) to deep dive into what makes an effective climate partnership. This is just the first step in MI and Breakthrough Agenda's collaboration on understanding and amplifying successful partnership models. (Demetrios Papathanasiou, Vincent Ogaya, Paul Durrant). ? Today at #COP29, International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) launched its "Quality Infrastructure for Green Hydrogen Roadmap" which comes as an output from a project that IRENA implemented together with Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, PTB and support from Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. This roadmap aims to provide policymakers and hydrogen industry stakeholders?with guidance on how to highlight and leverage crucial QI services as a key instrument for the successful global production and use of #greenhydrogen. The roadmap approach was tested in a #Tunisia case study and a database, providing a non-exhaustive overview on available and upcoming standards/QI services for green hydrogen, are complements to this publication. #COP29's side event, Quality infrastructure as an enabler of sustainable green hydrogen value chains invited a range of stakeholders to share their views on the importance of quality infrastructure as a means of enabling green hydrogen development. It was a real pleasure to spend a few days in Seoul with our generous South Korean hosts for Mission Innovation meetings in 2025! We are embarking on a HUGE year, as we turn ten-years old alongside the Paris Agreement. Our 10th Ministerial, taking place in Busan in August 2025, will showcase how far we have come in progressing our innovation agenda, whilst highlighting where we need to focus our attention in the coming years. We had fantastic discussions with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korean Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning(KETEP) Technology Evaluation and Planning, and had a sneak peek at the venue for our Annual Gathering which is looking FABULOUS! Looking forward to working with as many of you as possible as we embark on our biggest year yet...
