关于我们
Mission EDC is tasked with creating jobs, attracting capital investment, improving the quality of life and strengthening the workforce in Mission, Texas. In 2011, the organization went through a major overhaul that allowed it to re-invent itself and create a new strategic plan. Through this process, the Mission EDC board agreed to focus on five areas: · Entrepreneurship and STEAM Education · Infrastructure and Transportation · Quality of Life · Business Expansion and Retention · Recruitment It was a board consensus that education is the foundation to economic development and without it makes the other areas of focus difficult to achieve. Thus, the board agreed to focus on Entrepreneurship and STEAM Education as its main priority. Consequently, three initiatives were created to address this number one priority: Ruby Red Ventures, Code the Town, and Enginuity. The professional staff of Mission Economic Development Corporation are available to assist local or relocating businesses. An important source of information and program activity, Mission Economic Development Corporation staff understand the competitive nature of local, national and international business. Mission issued close to $650 million in new construction permits over the last four years - demonstrating substantial and stable growth as it barrels toward opening the Anzalduas International Bridge to cargo traffic and welcoming more retail. Any city with just 90,000 residents would love to have those kind of numbers. In FY21-22-23-24, Mission issued nearly 1,700 permits for new homes worth an estimated $361 million + an additional 2,250 permits worth some $65 million for residential remodeling - with 2021 & 2022 being banner years exiting COVID. Apartment/duplex building came in at $40M buoyed by $25M in 2024. Commercial construction posted $71M in new permits over the four years and remodeling added $78M. It’s difficult to predict what will happen next, but we are currently responding to numerous major commercial projects requests, the city has continued to plat new subdivisions, Killam is about to go vertical on its first major residential community and Rhodes continues to build. The Anzalduas International Bridge is busier than ever and gearing up for more! Southbound truck crossings have surged by 22%, and passenger vehicles have increased by 15%.?With new northbound commercial lanes on the way, we anticipate even more growth ahead. It’s clear that the bridge is more than just a route — it’s the gateway to Texas for cross-border trade and travel. https://lnkd.in/gRuCYZkJ #YourMissionStartsHere Teclo Garcia Belén Guerrero-Aguirre Brianna Casares Naxiely Lopez-Puente Stephanie Mendiola Ruben Ramos Yadira J.
