?? Breaking News! House Bill 6068 has just been introduced to update Michigan’s sex education law so young people can learn about their bodies, protect their health, and make informed decisions for their futures. We’re calling on the Michigan Legislature to pass this important bill before they adjourn in December so public school students are equipped with the information and skills they need to protect themselves in today’s world. ?? The outcome of this election is devastating for the future of sexual and reproductive health care access — but this fight is far from over. In these uncertain times, we need each other now more than ever. Join us in community with fellow reproductive health advocates for a post-election town hall on Tuesday, November 12. We'll be breaking down the results and what they mean for the future of sexual and reproductive care in Michigan, and mapping out our next steps to protect the rights we fought so hard to secure. Register at PPMI.org/th24.

"We must call these attacks out for what they are: a strategy designed to reinforce the belief that only white men are qualified to run our country — and a political tool to distract and divide Americans along the lines of race, religion, national origin, and immigration status." – Paula Thornton Greear, President & CEO for Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan
Opinion: Why abortion attacks and diatribes against Harris’ race and gender miss the mark in Michigan

#WeDecide ??????
I was proud to join Curtis Hertel’s reproductive freedom roundtable discussion today on behalf of Planned Parenthood Action Fund. This race is one of the most competitive in the country. Control of congress - and with it, the future of reproductive rights in this country – could come down to the votes cast in this race. And I have to say, the choice could not be more stark. I live in Charlotte, which is Tom Barrett’s hometown. So, unfortunately, I’ve had a front row seat to see just how committed Tom Barrett is to advancing an extreme anti-abortion agenda. If Barrett makes it to Congress, he would be a rubber stamp for every attack on reproductive health that came up for a vote – just as he was in the state legisalture. Tom Barrett describes himself as “100% prolife – no exceptions.” He supported Michigan’s 1931 abortion ban, and when he was in the state legislature he even went so far as to sponsor legislation that would jail doctors and nurses for providing abortion care. We cannot let Barrett into Congress. He would only use it as backdoor into our doctors’ offices. And let’s be clear, all the work we’ve done here in Michigan to safeguard our reproductive rights can and would be undone if anti-abortion politicians gain control of Congress and the presidency. Proposal 3 cannot save us from a national abortion ban.

It was 1969, 4 years before the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, when 16-year-old Lindsey Stewart found herself unexpectedly pregnant. This is her story. ??
