If you haven’t heard of Will Wright, you are missing out on SO much more. Owner Will Wright is a jack of all trades - excavation, chickens, cows, produce, a sawmill, trucks - he does it all. Today I followed Will in his Kubota to a giant white pine on his property which he cut down, trimmed, shaped into logs, transported them to his sawmill, and shaped them into 2 x 8s. I got to film the entire process from start to finish. Not only was I impressed that he did everything himself, but that he managed to physically outpace me at every step. “I wake up at 6 am and walk 2 miles every day, 7 days a week,” Will explained while he stopped to eat a healthy self-packed lunch in his sawmill. “This land…I wouldn’t trade it for anything. This one is for my fellow gear junkies who want to know what my camera rig looks like…so I threw in some bonus material. These are my two most frequently used pieces of gear, lens and all. When I’m trudging through mud, I carry my Sony FX6 everywhere. It doesn’t matter if I’m climbing ladders or standing on staging, I bring this thing with me to war. The Gmaster 70-200mm is great for those tight shots from a distance - especially if I don’t want to get in the way. That @smallrig.us 212 on the back keeps me powered up the whole day, getting juice to my camera, my Hollyland Technology Pyro 7, and my Rode NTG5. It’s a heavy rig, but a stable rig. Now when I’m safely at my truck away from it all, I fly the DJI Mavic 3 Pro. I can get any shot I need to from this workhorse, and even switch to snapping photos with a single tap of the touch screen. If I had to pick two cameras, these would be them.
