Last Thursday night freedom fighters in Las Vegas got together and celebrated DEMOCRACY at the ACLU of Nevada annual gala. The right to “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” is at stake, and it’s up to all of us to know our rights, defend our rights and fight for the rights of all humans! That energy and sentiment was felt by ACLU’s leadership Athar Haseebullah, Esq., and as Attorney General Aaron D. Ford delivered a passionate message and surprised President of the NAACP Las Vegas Branch #1111 Quentin Savwoir with the Roberts Chester Civil Rights Leadership Award ??! There were so many others in the city that won awards for their advocacy & leadership, congrats to all! Great to see so many Advocates like Lauren Chapple-Love, Ph.D., Leaders and our Legislators such as Assemblymen Cameron "CH" Miller in the room. Thank you to André Wade, MPA, State Director of Silver State Equality for a seat at your table! HAPPY LABOR DAY!
