Join us in celebrating Elisabeth Comeaux, our Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, on ten years with the Minnesota Zoo Foundation! Over her tenure, Beth has connected businesses with the Foundation, creating meaningful and impactful partnerships that have elevated the Minnesota Zoo's mission. We are truly grateful for her work and dedication to saving wildlife. Congratulations, and THANK YOU, Beth! A quick fun fact about Beth's favorite Zoo animal, the leafy sea dragon: Because they don't have teeth or a stomach, they eat almost constantly. They create suction in their long, tube-like snout to swallow their prey whole, similar to a straw or a pipette.

Last month, our staff joined the?Minnesota Zoo on an adventure cutting and collecting browse, the woody plant material that is essential to many animals' diets. ?? The Zoo's animal nutritionist coordinates individual nutrition plans for each species. And much like you and me, some animals'?diets evolve with the seasons! ???For animals like moose, browse is a key part of winter?mealtimes, providing the large amounts of fiber needed to maintain a healthy gut biome, break down their food, and extract the protein and nutrients they need to thrive. Minnesota Zoo Foundation donors help the Zoo provide industry-leading care, including healthy, personalized diets for our nearly 5,000 animals. The browse collected by our staff on this trip?will be packed and shared with our moose so they can enjoy the five-star meals they deserve all winter long!

What an extraordinary weekend! ?? With the Beastly Bash Gala and Gathering officially wrapped, we're reflecting on the incredible events and impact made on wildlife here at the Zoo and around the world. ??
