关于我们
The Minnesota Marine Art Museum is a nonprofit art museum that engages visitors in meaningful visual art experiences through education and exhibitions that explore the ongoing and historic human relationship with water. Located in Winona, Minnesota, the purpose-built museum is located on the banks of the Mississippi River and boasts six galleries, an educational and events space, and a destination retail shop on its seven acre riverside campus. It is through this surprising diversity that MMAM is not only describing what marine art is, but pushing the boundaries of what marine art can be.

Step inside “Shelly Mosman: Currents” —on view at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum in Winona, MN, through April 27, 2025. Minneapolis-based photographer Shelly Mosman brings her signature blend of artistry and imagination to this striking exhibition. Having transitioned from an 18-year career in commercial and wedding photography to a focus on expressive portraiture, Mosman’s work is a captivating fusion of European art history and contemporary pop culture. Her portraits—both intimate and theatrical—immerse viewers in a world of bold contrasts, where subjects, human and animal alike, don vibrant costumes and inhabit meticulously staged environments. Currents spotlights Mosman’s water-inspired imagery, inviting you to experience the depth, mystery, and emotion captured in her lens. Join us as we explore the fluid, dreamlike beauty of “Currents.”? https://lnkd.in/gsAzrejy Video by Bailey Bolton.

March is National Youth Art Month! Youth Art Month is designed to promote art and art education in the United States. The Minnesota Marine Art Museum is proud to partner with the Winona Area Public Schools to help celebrate and support quality art education in our schools. For over 30 years, the Winona Area Public Schools has participated in Youth Art Month, displaying the creative work of area students throughout the community. Through art education, students learn to see and act with a greater understanding and sensitivity to the world around them. They develop individual creative expression, gain knowledge of art history and diversity, and evaluate their own thoughts, feelings, technical abilities, and process. From March 1 - 30, MMAM is exhibiting a small sample of artworks created by students this school year at Washington-Kosciusko Elementary, Jefferson Elementary School, Goodview Elementary, Winona Middle School, and the Winona Senior High School. More student artwork can be seen in Winona at Nate & Ally's Frozen Treat Creations and WNB Financial. Images: Nora Pollock, Winona Middle School, Grade 7.
