Minnesota is home to incredible leaders, and this weekend we celebrated one of our own Lea B. Olsen at Celebrating the Sistas! As a gold sponsor, we were proud to support this event honoring Black women making a difference in our community. Lea’s impact in sports, media, and youth development is undeniable from playing at the University of Minnesota to her work with the Lynx, Timberwolves, and Rethink the Win, empowering young athletes. Congrats to Lea and all the honorees! Your leadership makes Minnesota stronger.

Erika Wakefield-Zubiate started in manufacturing at 18, often the youngest and only woman in the room. Her advice? “Pursue your passion fiercely. Be confident, be bold and build your circle.” Now she’s paving the way as Co-Chair of nVent’s early career ERG. We’re proud to partner with nVent to celebrate leaders who are shifting culture and opening doors for the next generation.

We’re back celebrating the amazing people behind Minnesota Timberwolves & Minnesota Lynx! ?? ?? Gabby Pitera Talent Acquisition Coordinator-?"For the last 4 years, I've been coaching youth girls basketball in my free time.?One of my favorite memories working with the Timberwolves and Lynx was when our 4th-8th grade girls teams participated in one of our programs where youth teams get to scrimmage on the Timberwolves Court.?It was really cool to be able to show them where I work and watch them genuinely have the time of their lives (one of them even sank an NBA 3!) Exposing them to such a big stage and reminding them that so many professional players were once in their shoes taught them that with a little hard work, they could potentially play here again some day.?? ? Sometimes it's easy to get lost in the job and forget how lucky you are to work for such a cool, unique and often inspiring organization. This experience reminded me not to take any of it for granted."

Doubt tells you to wait. To play it safe. To hold back. But growth happens when you lean in—when you ask the questions, challenge the norm, take the risk. Jessica Avarca, Global HR Manager and Co-Chair of the Global Women’s Network at nVent, knows this firsthand: “Push yourself. Take the leap. You might grow in ways you never imagined.” Confidence isn’t something you wait for. You build it. Step by step, choice by choice.

At the heart of leadership is the courage to step up while never forgetting those who paved the way. For Suzanne Gilreath, Account Executive, Lynx Sales & Service and WISC Co-Chair, it’s about honoring the past, building relationships and leading with authenticity. “When the opportunity is there for you, take it. Go lead, go all out and believe in yourself.” We're proud to partner with nVent to celebrate the women breaking barriers in sports and beyond.

We’re back celebrating the amazing people behind Minnesota Timberwolves & Minnesota Lynx! Alisa Jang Human Resources Senior Coordinator- "My family and I are big Minnesota sports fans and grew up watching the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx. One of my favorite moments was taking my parents to a game last season—it was their first time ever attending and sitting that close to the court. Seeing their faces light up throughout the game was priceless; their excitement was unforgettable. It was also AAPI Night, which made the experience even more special. Being involved in the planning and seeing other Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders featured on the big screens, along with our sponsors showing support, was incredibly meaningful. It’s a moment I’ll never forget, and I couldn’t have been prouder to witness such a strong display of AAPI representation."

Leadership that inspires. Growth that elevates. Before Bolanle S. joined nVent, she saw something different—women leading at every level. A CEO, a CFO and a company committed to elevating careers. “They take a really good approach to career paths and to really elevating you. And I was really inspired by that.” At nVent, mentorship isn’t just encouraged, it’s a priority. And we’re proud to partner with them to spotlight leaders making an impact. Happy #InternationalWomensDay
