Shelter saves lives. Housing ends homelessness.
关于我们
The Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless (MCH) works to ensure that every Minnesotan has a place to call home. We are comprised of over 100 member organizations. With our partners, we advocate for concrete policy change. MCH leads two statewide advocacy campaigns for housing and economic security. We've advocated for state funding to build or preserve over 9,000 units of affordable housing. MCH also works upstream to improve economic policies for families living in deep poverty. Each year, we hold two large events, Homeless Day on the Hill and the MCH Annual Conference. Our mission is to generate public policy, community support, and local resources to end homelessness in Minnesota.

Check out MCH's Interim Executive Director, Matt Traynor, and the Executive Director of Chum in Duluth, John Cole, talk with Minnesota Public Radio about the pressing need for shelter and services across the state. "In 2017 MCH decided to have a legislative on unsheltered homelessness, and most of our travel was done throughout Greater Minnesota. Aside from housing, the second most common thing noted by shelter guests was the need for more shelter. We need better services. Individuals need to see a caseworker sooner than they can. And that's literally in every part of the state, no matter how big or small the region is."

This week Claudette McDowall will share her conference highlights and experiences with you. Please enjoy this hot off-the-press piece! "I love learning and the #MCHCONF was a great place to learn and network. I also learned a lot from the conference and I have expanded my knowledge, and usually, conferences enable me to learn new ideas and gain a lot more insights from the people you network with or the presentations you attend."
