A retired 27-year Burnsville police officer, Rep. Witte has continued his legacy of service by leading efforts to bring school resource officers back to schools, address the surge in carjackings, and secure funding for Lakeville’s first responder training facility. Through his “Law Enforcement 365 Initiative,†Rep. Witte champions year-round support for Minnesota’s first responders. Most violent crime is trending down in Minnesota, with others, like assaults on law enforcement, increasing. According to the Minnesota BCA 2023 Uniform Crime Report, statewide violent crime decreased 6.9% compared to 2022.
