Post-Budget Consultation: Rural Prosperity & Resilience Programme Ministry of Rural Development hosted a post-budget consultation on the ‘Rural Prosperity and Resilience Programme’ bringing together senior officers, industry leaders, and trade bodies to discuss transformative strategies for rural development. Secretary, RD, Shri Shailesh Kumar Singh, set the tone for the discussion, stating, “The whole idea is to generate ample opportunities in rural areas so that migration is an option, but not a necessity.” Adding to this, Shri T. K. Anil Kumar, Additional Secretary, Rural Livelihoods, RD, noted, “A comprehensive multi-sectoral rural prosperity and resilience programme will be launched with the partnership of states.” Through this collaborative dialogue, actionable pathways were identified to strengthen rural skilling, manufacturing, tourism, digital integration, and logistics, paving the way for sustainable and resilient rural growth. Grameen Credit Score introduced in the Union Budget 2025-26 is a framework that public-sector banks will develop to address the credit requirements of the member of the Self-Help Groups in the rural areas.
