Minger crews launched their 72" Akkerman TBM this past week. The tunnel, which is for a future water line in Arkansas is 600 ft long and in solid rock!

Spring weight restrictions are coming on in Minnesota this Monday morning, so time to get moving!

This winter in Minnesota has been interesting, to say the least. Warm temps to cold temps to warm temps with no snow have made the ice shift on the lakes, which has caused havoc on existing sanitary manholes sometimes pushing them over! Minger has been able to assist local cities in fixing these manholes in recent weeks and saving the lakes from entering the local sanitary sewer systems!

The Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District (RWMWD) owns and maintains the 6 mile-long?Beltline Storm Sewer which accepts drainage from an approximately 30 square mile watershed including the Phalen Chain of Lakes. All of that water discharges into the mighty Mississippi River just downstream of downtown St. Paul. Last summer, a portion of the last segment of the Beltline partially failed which impacted the industrial property owner above, and the tunnel’s long term ability to convey storm sewer flows. RWMWD acted quickly performing an emergency repair in 2023 to stabilize the tunnel and is currently underway with a more robust repair (replacement of the last segment of tunnel) with the help of Minger Construction. Barr’s own (Gareth Becker) was on site with Barr Engineering Co.'s drone capturing the Minger team accomplishing a significant milestone of setting the replacement pipe.
