We’re excited for next week’s 2024 Annual Meeting of the American Exploration & Mining Association (AEMA)! Our team at Knight Piesold USA, including specialists from our offices in Fort Collins, Elko, and Tucson, are looking forward to connecting with the AEMA and mining community. On December 5, Scott Effner and Nate Bolles, M.S., P.G. will be taking part in the mining hydrology session. ??Scott, a senior geochemist/hydrogeologist, will be co-chairing the session on “Site Characterization - Identifying, Quantifying, and Evaluating Uncertainty.” ??Nate, a senior scientist, will be speaking on “Variably Saturated Seepage Modeling to Estimate Subsidence Zone Seepage to Mine Workings Developed Using Sub-Level Cave.” His presentation will focus on using Hydrus 2D models to estimate seepage when few and unreliable data points are available by referencing peer sites, professionals with similar experience, published data, and sensitivity analyses. During the six-day conference, Brittany Hutchings, Ashley Johnson, and Diego Maura Gassols will also be engaging with our clients and industry peers from our booth.
