The Mindfulness Association delivers two Master's degree Level Programmes as well as full and embodied training courses for all levels of mindfulness - from Foundations of Mindfulness to Insight & Wisdom Practices and retreats. We deliver a full teacher training package for Mindfulness and Compassion (MBLC and CBLC) with an emphasis on compassionate enquiry practices. We also have a new programme for teaching mindfunlness to young adults.(MBLC-YA). Our Master's Degrees include: ? MSc Studies in Mindfulness with the University of Aberdeen ? MSc Mindfulness and Compassion (with teaching qualification) with the University of West of Scotland in London. We adhere to the good practice guidelines of BAMBA (British Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches). We have strong links with Samye Ling. Many of our retreats are based at Samye Ling Tibetan Centre near Lockerbie in the south of Scotland with other courses run from other centres around the UK. Compassion is at the heart of everything we do.

  • You are welcome to join us for free guided compassion-based mindfulness meditation Monday to Friday at 10.30am-11am and 7pm - 8pm. (All our practices are compassion-based.) Try for yourself to see if our approach suits you. With different tutors each day, you will find a variety of accessible practices suitable for beginners as well as for the more seasoned practitioner. There is no need to sign up to anything.   • When we practice mindfulness, we are, bit by bit, learning to bring acceptance to ourselves. We are learning to love ourselves for the compassionate mess that we all are. A big part of acceptance is the recognition of that subtle striving, that subtle perfectionism that can trigger, sustain and exacerbate stress, anxiety and cyclical rumination. It is a tough lesson to grasp (especially as so much of our culture implicitly or explicitly talks of endless self-improvement and perfectionism!) but once we understand and embody that idea that we’re fine, imperfections and all, we can really begin to love and support ourselves and others. Tara Brach's words will hopefully stick in the mind so we can be more compassionate when that inner-critic pipes up! #acceptance #compassion #compassinatemess #tarabrach #radicalacceptance #mindfulness

  • The image of the mountain, sturdy, grounded and resolute, is a vivid one in mindfulness. It is an excellent way to conceptualise ideas like acceptance, resilience and resting in the midst. This mini meditation allows us to bring this sense of rootedness into the present moment, allowing us some much needed calm in our day.   • **MINDFUL QIGONG ONLINE COURSE - 27th MARCH TO 24th APRIL** We are really excited about our mindful qigong course that is due to start at the end of the month.
